Hey girl. That Ryan Gosling fella sure does a whole bunch of movies. And, since he is always playing an attractive and charming twentysomething, it can be hard to know what his five best films are. Well fear not friends, we have here the definitive list of Ry Ry’s five best films, so check them out and then go see your boy in The Ides of March this weekend. He plays an attractive and charming twentysomething.
The United States of Leland — This movie is super dope but no one really saw it. It has all those cool indie kids of the early aughts like Jena Malone and Michelle Williams plus some olds like Kevin Spacey and Don Cheadle. Gosling is not so nice though, he stabs a kid and has to go to juvie. Also there is some light heroin usage going on. Great movie though and killer soundtrack.
The Believer — Gosling plays an anti-Semitic Jewish kid in this his breakthrough role (sorry Mickey Mouse Club). The film won the Grand Jury prize at Sundance so film snobs LOVE it. It is not all good news though as Gosling shaved his head for the role which undercuts his swoonworthiness.
Stay — This movie also stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor and made absolutely no sense at all to me. That is why I know this is a great movie. If you cannot understand something you should always say it is amazing so you sound really smart to other people.
All Good Things — Ry Ry and Kiki Dunst play a happily married couple, until he kind of loses his mind and kills her. This is based on a true story so you should not google it because it will ruin the movie for you. Even though I think I just did.
Blue Valentine — This is Gosling’s greatest movie. Ever.
Maybe Gosling isn’t so charming after all.
