Ryan Murphy Gives Us First Look At Nick Jonas In "Scream Queens"

Ryan Murphy gave EW a first look at Scream Queens, his horror comedy series coming to Fox this fall.

And while Nick Jonas with chest hair and a stuffed animal was what caught our eye, the feature also includes first glimpses of co-stars Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis and Abigail Breslin.

The show, which Murphy calls Heathers meets Friday the 13th, also stars Lea Michele, Keke Palmer, Oliver Hudson, and Ariana Grande.

Roberts plays the ruthless head of Kappa sorority, while Breslin plays her number one henchwoman. On the other side of things you have Palmer as  a new pledge trying to change the system and Curtis  as the Dean of Students, who would like to dismantle the whole Greek system.

Along with Glen Powell, Jonas play members an entitled white kid and the most popular guys on the campus.

And while it will definitely be suspenseful, Murphy is relying more on the laughs than on the gore of American Horror Story.

"One thing too that I hear all the time from women about American Horror Story is, 'I love the idea of it but it’s too scary and I can’t watch it.'" he says. "So the question we asked is, 'How do we keep it scary but write something for that audience?' It doesn’t have the gore of American Horror Story but it certainly still has the scares."

The show starts with a flashback to 1995 when something horrible happens on campus, and is left unresolved. "Flash-forward 25 years and it looks like someone is out for revenge," teases Murphy. Viewers will get to piece together clues to figure out who the Red Devil killer is—a secret that won't be revealed until the final episode.

Although with Murphy promising a murder every episode, how many suspects will be left by then?

Well, at least a few people survive—Murphy says that, unlike Horror Story, whoever survives will go on to the next season as part of the new location and new mystery.
