Ryan Murphy Talks “American Horror Story” Season 4 And Coven Spinoff

American Horror Story

The battle between the witches of Salem and the witches of New Orleans might only be starting to amp up, but Ryan Murphy is already dropping hints about the next mini-series of beloved cult hit American Horror Story.  While we already know that Season 4 will be Jessica Lange’s last, Mr. Murphy remains mostly elusive about the future of his show.  His recent interview with Entertainment Weekly does shed some light on the possible new locations of his gorey and gorgeous series:

It’s not contemporary … It’s either going to shoot in New Orleans or it’s going to shoot in Santa Fe.

My prediction: if they go with the New Mexican location, we might have a Roswell-themed season on our hands.  (Then again, they already covered aliens in Season 2…)

Murphy is also squashing rumors about the possibility of a spin-off for some of the characters of Coven:

We were starting to break episode 8 or 9 and we were like, ‘Well, we can’t kill that person off because we need them for the spin-off.’ As soon as those words were said, I was like, ‘There is no spin-off.’ Because it took away from the joy of the show. The reason the show is successful is no one is safe ever.

Considering at least four characters in AHS: C have already died and been brought back to life, I’m not quite sure if Murphy’s statement makes much sense.  No matter; looks like we’ll be parting ways with Fiona and her sorceress sorority sooner rather than later.
