Sam Smith hasn’t released an album since his award-winning debut, In The Lonely Hour, three years ago, but the singer’s recent Instagram posts suggest new music is finally on the way.
Smith posted a series of photos from the recording studio this week, teasing fans with the hope that they’ll get to hear a new single from the Grammy winner in the near future.
The British singer practically disappeared from social media since winning an Oscar for recording the James Bond theme “Writing’s On The Wall” early last year. Aside from popping up to post condolences after George Michael died and last month’s terrorist attack in Manchester, these photos mark Smith’s first return to his Instagram account.
The pictures find him in a studio session with producer Jimmy Napes, who co-wrote Smith’s hits “Stay With Me” and “Writing’s on the Wall.” Timbaland also recently posted a photo with Smith captioned “we’re just getting started.”
