International superstar Sam Smith is currently on a global tour singing about love and heartbreak. Now the Oscar- and Grammy-winning singer, 26, is opening up about his own love life three months after he and 13 Reasons Why actor Brandon Flynn called it quits.

"I'm still trying to figure out what I took from that relationship and what it meant to me," Smith told UK's The Times of his eight-month romance. "It's still quite raw."

The "Stay With Me" singer also says the breakup didn't end on a flat note and called Flynn "wonderful."

Though his split garnered headlines around the world, Smith believes the visibility is a good thing.

"Seeing gay relationships [in a public way] is important and refreshing," he said. "You don’t see it loads."
