Samantha Bee Roasts “Future President” Pence On His Pro-Conversion Therapy Stance

“We can finally stop demonizing immigrants and minorities and focus on the real enemy: gay children.”

The Handmaid’s Tale has nothing on the grim future imagined last night on Full Frontal With Samantha Bee’s “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner” special.

Capping off a running gag in which Bee is seen roasting past presidents at Correspondents’ Dinners throughout history, Bee gives the business to President Mike Pence in 2018.

Now known as Mrs. Jason Jones in a patriarchal dystopia, the comedian breaks the No Public Woman Chatter law to razz the notoriously homophobic conservative, who stepped up after Trump got his head stuck in a jar of honey.

“I didn’t think you’d make a good president at all, Mike Pence, but I’m coming around,” says the former Daily Show correspondent, shaking with fear. “So in at least this case, the conversion therapy is working.”

Before flashing her chastity belt, Bee ends her roast with a real zinger: “It’s nice that after a disastrous year of Trump, we can finally stop demonizing immigrants and minorities and focus on the real enemy: gay children.”

Earlier, during her faux roast of Ronald Reagan, Bee read that administration for its inattention to the AIDS epidemic.
