Genius San Francisco 49ers Deny Appearing In 'It Gets Better' Video

Well, this certainly makes it easier to figure out who to cheer for on Sunday.

After receiving praise for participating in an LGBT friendly Super Bowl, some members of the San Francisco 49ers have decided to take back their goodwill. And we aren't just talking about Chris Culliver's remarks. We're talking full scale weird denials.

Four players from the Niners made an "It Gets Better" video, and two of them are now saying they never made any such video. Oh, okay, except for you did. Because, we can see the video. And you're in it.

"I didn't make any video," Ahmad Brooks told USA Today. "This is America and if someone wants to be gay, they can be gay. It's their right. But I didn't make any video." When the reporter insisted, he said: "I don't remember that. I think if I made a video, I'd remember it."

[Insert awkwardness when reporter shows him the video on his phone. Oh, technology.]

"Oh, that," said Brooks. "It was an anti-bullying video, not a gay (rights) video." Once the entire theme of It Gets Better was finally explained to one of the football players hailed for making the first NFL "It Gets Better" video, Brooks had nothing left other than East Coast hatred. "I know that. I know that. Okay, you're right and I'm wrong. Are you from one of those New York newspapers?"

Similarly, Isaac Sopoaga was asked about the video and he too seemed to be confused about the cause behind the message. He denied filming it then when seeing himself on camera he got quiet pretty quickly.

It's okay. It's not like the team represents a city with any gay people anyway, right?
