A massive crew of gay performers and media folks (see above) are joining together to raise funds to help house homeless LGBT youth in New York City this coming Monday night. And if you're in NYC and are feeling charitable you can help, too!

The Ali Forney Center, an organization that provides housing, counseling, medical and educational services and other emergency care for homeless queer youth, is hosting a big cocktail-y fundraiser, A Place at the Table, at the Chelsea Art Museum on Monday, October 6th at 7pm, and headlining the event with a performance is the ever fierce Sandra Bernhard.

Bernhard's just coming off a multi-week revival of her brilliantly classic one-woman show (Without You I'm Nothing, which is beyond legendary and a must-see for each and every gay person everywhere), and you can bet you might hear some snippets of it on Monday. Or maybe she'll lend her scathing insight on the current election-season drama. It's likely.

Also said to be attending are the event's honorary co-chairs Justin Bond, Alan Cumming and Carson Kressley, as well as celebutantes such as Ari Gold, Murray Hill and the fashionable Robert Verdi. The shindig will be hosted by the star of Broadway's Passing Strange and Logo's Big Gay Sketch Show, Colman Domingo. (Maybe he'll bring Maya Angelou, too?)

If you can swing it, spend a few $$$ and take your "Place at the Table." The Ali Forney Center is an amazing, life-saving resource serving gay/trans youths kicked to the streets. These kids are our responsibility as a community, after all. Find out more and check out videos made by AFC and its amazingly resilent clients.

And with the fabulously funny Colman Domingo hosting, there's no telling what might go down. Brace yourselves!!!
