Dolce & Gabbana Blackface Scandal, Sandra Day O'Connor Officiates Gay Wedding: Today In Gay

Blackface seems to be the fashion faux pas of Halloween 2013: First Julianne Hough thought it'd be a good idea to darken her skin to dress up as Crazy Eyes from Orange is the New Black. Now photos from Milan's Hallowood: Disco Africa party show designer Domenico Dolce of Dolce & Gabanna among several guests in blackface, including fellow designer Allesandro Dell’Acqua.

Below, Dell'Acqua in blackface flanked by  Stefano Gabbana (left) and  publicist Juan Fran Sierra (right) in feather masks.

Photographer Giampaolo Sgura also donned faux-African tribalwear and darkened skin:

Sgura, one of Hallowood's organizers, apologized for the incident on Instagram:

We would like to sincerely apologize that this private party offended so many people. It was never our intention to do so. We had named the party “Disco Africa” to reflect the growing influence of Africa in the design and fashion world, not only as a growing market but also as the source of creative ideas. In retrospect, we clearly failed to think through the possible negative consequences and interpretations that might have resulted and appeared in both traditional and social media.

ryan joshua fooA heterosexual man in Omaha, Nebraska, was left bloody and bruised after trying to defend two gay friends from three gay-bashers. Ryan Langenegger and his friends Josh Foo and Jacob Gellinger, were eating at Omaha's Pepperjax Grill in the Old Market, with Gellinger dressed in drag. Langenegger told WOWT,"We were eating and there was three guys watching us and one of them stepped up and was a foot or two away from my friend [Gellinger] and he just kept saying, 'Should I? Should I?'"

The three suspects followed Langenegger and his friends when they left the eatery, and he stepped forward after one called Gellinger "disgusting" and other insults. Langenegger suffered a giant gash on his forehead, two chipped teeth and bruising "It just makes no sense this day and age and in Omaha, for all of this stuff to still be happening and out in the streets."

Says Foo, "We did not provoke this in anyway and also did not retaliate after the assault. Ryan, after being hit, paused and looked at the men and asked "Why"? which was the question we were all wondering since we did not do anything wrong besides be ourselves."

Foo thanked Langenegger for standing up for the group and posted a photo of him on Facebook. "He's a great friend. The world needs more people like him."

n-BRIAN-STEWART-large570A fraternity at Baltimore's Morgan State University has been accused of discriminating against a pledge because he is gay.

Former White House intern Brian Stewart was rejected from the school's chapter of  Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. Then Stewart somehow intercepted a series of messages exchanged between KAP regarding his application, some of which reportedly included an anti-gay slur.

"I couldn't even be angry because I was so hurt," Stewart told the Baltimore Sun. He has filed a formal complaint and the school is promised to investigate.
