Sarah Jessica Parker Is Returning To HBO, But Not For More "Sex And The City"

Sarah Jessica Parker is returning to HBO, the network that made her a star as Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw. But SJP won't be playing everyone's favorite Louboutin-craving Manhattanite.

Her new comedy series, Divorce, follows the messy drawn-out divorce of two New Yorkers, played by Parker and Sideways star Thomas Haden Church. SJP's character, Frances, apparently broaches the idea of splitting with her husband, then can't decide to go through with it—Church discovers she's been having an affair and calls it quits.

SNL's Molly Shannon and Talia Balsam (Mona Sterling in Mad Men) play two of Parker's friends.

New Yorkers who grew accustomed to walking through SATC shoots should keep their eyes open: The series films later this year, though now premiere date has been announced.
