Flashmobs are passe: An Australian woman proposed to her girlfriend by having her grandfather pop the question in an adorable video.

New South Wales resident Sarah enlisted her beloved grandfather's help in asking her girlfriend, Megan, to be her wife. She decided to involve "Pa" and her grandmother, Nan, after learning Pa only had three months to live and likely wouldn't make their wedding day.

“We have always been very close," Sarah told Dancing With Her of her grandfather. "He is my best friend.”

Pa and Nan had come to adore Megan and, in the video—which Sarah showed to Megan while the two were alone together on the beach—Pa confesses he already feels like she's a part of the family. "We welcome you in to our home, with or without Sarah, at any time."

"I have a favor to ask," he continued. "Would you please consider and agree to marry our granddaughter, please? Thank you, and I love you both. Have a very happy life together."

Megan said yes, and the pair plan to tie the knot in October—though since same-sex marriage still isn't legal in Australia, their ceremony will be symbolic.

Sadly, Sarah's grandfather passed away last week, but she and Megan will hold him in their hearts during their nuptials.
