"Scandal" And "How To Get Away With Murder" Double Up On Gay Sex

First of all, can we just give a moment of thanks to Shonda Rhimes for giving black ladies and gay men life on Thursdays? Historically those are the only two demographics I care about and it's nice that the rest of America is catching up. Last night, Rhimes's two shows, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder, provided a double dose of sexy gay storylines — double your pleasure, double your fun.

So after a so-so third season, Scandal is back and not giving a fuck. And so is post-baby Kerry Washington.

Last night's episode touched on the very topical issue of gun control, and more importantly, Olivia Pope's returning sex drive.

Fittingly, the last we see of Olivia, she's straddling her man in a pair of knee-high stiletto boots while Donna Summer's "MacArthur Park" blares in the background. I know that game.

On the other side of town, Cyrus Beene, grieving the loss of his husband, finds solace in a younger man with chiseled good looks and a secret.

Spoiler alert, he's an escort.

Second spoiler alert, he's working for Cyrus's current archenemy — wait for it — Lizzie Bear, played by Portia di Rossi, giving power bitch hair and face for days.

Yup, Scandal may be the gayest show on network TV if it weren't for new kid on the block, How to Get Away with Murder.

Used to being the seducer, lantern-jawed homosexual Connor is the object of perennial fox Steven Weber's creepy attention. Weber played an eccentric millionaire and possible murderer who hires Annalise (Viola Davis) to get him off. But not before he gets off with Connor. Because what boy doesn't want to hear that you're "dead-wife pretty"?

Probably the boy who doesn't want to play stand-in for a corpse.

Though Connor looks like he's kind of enjoying it.

Who said romance is dead? It's just Steven Weber's wife. Connor, on the other hand, is no romantic.

But as series creator Peter Nowalk promised, things look to be getting serious with his nerdy hacker boytoy.

Instead of TGIT (Thank God It's Thursday), let's just rename it TGFSR: Thank God for Shonda Rhimes. In the name of Viola Davis, amen.

Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder air Thursday nights on ABC
