“Scream” Television Series Haunting Audiences This June

scream
Scream,
the 1996 film that launched an entire sub-genre of horror comedies, will be remade as a television show this summer, according to reports.

Not much is known about the series, but among the online rumors was  talk the show would be supernatural—rather than just, y’know, stabby—and that it would be some kind of Teen Wolf spinoff.

screamNow the Scream: The Series tumblr is claiming  the TV show will be more like the film, but will follow a male lead. It also alleges at least one character from the film will pop up in the small-screen pilot. (Whether that means the actor would appear, as well, we can’t say.)

And lastly, the tumblr site claims that a promo for the show will air during Teen Wolf.

Will the TV show follow “the rules” set up by Scream’s pop-culture know-it-alls ?  We’ll have to wait until June to find out. But in the meantime, don’t have sex, don’t  do drugs and don’t say “I’ll be right back.”
