Katya Has A Crush In The New Queer Love Story “Sebastian”

"You're not a plumber, are you? Because you just flooded my basement."

If you have already seen the latest buzzworthy LGBT films like Call Me By Your Name and God’s Own Country, then maybe try Sebastian, a romantic movie in the vein of Before Sunrise and Weekend.

Oh, and did we mention that RuPaul’s Drag Race queen Katya is also one of the stars of the movie?

Sebastian is the feature film directorial debut from James Fanizza, and it’s based on his short of the same name from 2014. Not only did Fanizza write and direct the movie, but he also plays Alex, one of the leads, who falls in love with Sebastian (Alex House)—even though Alex already has a boyfriend, and it’s Sebastian’s cousin.

Katya (whose real name is Brian McCook) plays Xenia, a local drag performer, and like in The Trixie and Katya Show, viewers will get to see her both in and out of drag.

“You’re not a plumber, are you? Because you just flooded my basement,” Xenia tells Sebastian in the film’s preview.

We love how Katya delivers a line from her Drag Race Season 7 sister, Ginger Minj!

Below, watch the exclusive premiere of the trailer for Sebastian, which will hit DVD and VOD on February 6, a week before Valentine’s Day—you know, in case you wanted to plan a romantic evening in.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 3 premieres Thursday, January 25 at 8/7c on VH1.

I write about drag queens. Dolly Parton once ruffled my hair and said I was "just the cutest thing ever."
