Sebastian Stan stars this weekend in The Apparition, a long shelved horror film he made with Ashley Greene years ago. And while the film is likely to tank, Stan is in no way to blame for the film’s inevitable dismal performance. Furthermore, after some very successful years on television in a variety of shows, it is time someone gave this bitch more work on the big screen.
Don’t believe us? Take a look at five memorable Stan roles.
Gossip Girl
Most of us met Stan for the first time on this amazing CW show as he played Carter Baizen, an aimless member of Manhattan’s upper class who likes to travel, smoke weed and steal. He also liked to hook up with the ladies on the show (both Blaire and Serena) and met real life girlfriend Leighton Meester on set. Maybe he will return for the final season…
Kings
Stan played the son of the King on this critically adored but ultimately cancelled NBC drama. A closeted homosexual, he watched as his father took on a war hero as an adopted son and possible heir to the throne. The role required a whole bunch of quiet rage and anger and hotness, and Stan delivered on all three.
Captain America: The First Avenger
Stan’s biggest role to date was playing the sidekick to CA, Bucky Barnes. He was cute and funny and tough and, lucky for all of us, will be back for the sequel.
Gone
It may have been the boring boyfriend role, but Stan proved he has the sidekick thing down playing Amanda Seyfried’s man in this thriller.
Political Animals
Again a gay, though this time less closeted and more drug addled, Stan was one of the best parts of this USA miniseries. Let’s hope he and the show return, though it wouldn’t be so bad if a super busy film schedule made that impossible.
Merritt Wever: Bitch Needs More Work
