11 NHL Hockey Players That Make Us Melt

Ice guys finish first.

The NHL has long been at the forefront of inclusiveness: The league launched its first Gay Day in 2013 and every team has at least one member involved with You Can Play, the nonprofit dedicated to battling homophobia in organized athletics.

"The official policy of the NHL is one of inclusion on the ice, in our locker rooms and in the stands.” said NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.

Pro hockey players like Sean Avery have stood up for marriage equality and others, like the Edmonton Oilers' Andrew Ference, have participated in local Pride celebration.

It doesn't hurt that so many pro ice hockey players are easy on the eyes—even after taking a puck to the face. Some, like Henrik Lundqvist, have made big bank as models.

Below, we sing the praises of 11 gorgeous NHL hockey players.

Tyler Seguin

This Canadian cutie is only 22 but has already helped the Boston Bruins bring home the Stanley Cup in his rookie year. He's now with the Dallas Stars, and has endorsement deals with everyone form Dunkin Donuts to Under Armour.

And he posed naked in the ESPN Body issue last year.

He's also got a huge heart to go with those muscles: His charity, Seguin’s Stars, donates a free luxury suite to someone suffering from a spinal-chord injury at every home game. #Swoon

Gabriel Landeskog

The Colorado Avalanche's Nordic import describes himself as "just a regular kid from Sweden who loves ice cream."

And other treats, clearly.

Now 23, he was made captain of the Colorado Avalanche at just 19, making him the youngest captain in NHL history.

Joffrey Lupul

Posing for ESPN magazine's Body Issue a few years ago, Lupul clearly isn't shy about his figure.

But it does pose some unique problems: "Hockey players are known to have big asses—it's tough to find pants that fit," he told the magazine. "And I have to do a couple of deep squats in my jeans before I wear them, or they won't look quite right." #babygotback

Andrew Ference

Ference, captain of the Edmonton Oilers, marched in the 2014 Edmonton Pride parade, along with Jen Scrivens, the wife of Oilers goalie Ben Scrivens.

“Making sure that [LGBT] youth know they have allies at the pro level, or whether it’s a teammate who might be thinking about coming out, or whatever it is, we want to make sure that it’s an accepting environment for everyone,” Ference said. “I know most of my teammates and guys around the league line up with the same kind of belief.”

Jeff Carter

This L.A. Kings forward is so bae, he looks good with his front teeth knocked out.

We prefer him intact, though.

Carter, who hails from Ontario, has nabbed the Stanley Cup twice, and recently scored his 300th goal.

Tristan Cameron Harper

They don't just play hockey in North America, you know: Harper is a winger with the Braehead Clan in Glasgow, Scotland.

It's a great opportunity, but makes snuggle time with Buddy, his dog back home, a rare treat.

Sean Avery

The retired NHLer still keep himself in the headlines—whether it's poo-pooing engagement rumors with bestie Andy Cohen, enrolling as a Vogue intern, posing provocatively for Terry Richardson or competing on the on Dancing with the Stars.

The former Ranger got in trouble for dropping an F-bomb, but has also shot a video supporting marriage equality in New York and is a proud member of Athlete Ally.

Mike Green

On the Washington Capitals, Green is best known for his hard slapshot. Off the ice, he can pull off both the short-hair clean look and a scruffy long-haired visage.

Sidney Crosby

Captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Crosby lead Team Canada to a gold-medal win over Sweden at the Sochi Winter Olympics back in 2010.

That same year he signed the biggest endorsement deal in NHL history (at the time), when Reebok signed him for $1.4 million a year for five years.

Patrick Sharp

This 31-year-old is a left wing with the Dallas Stars, and has brought home the gold for Canada's Olympic hockey team.

Formerly with the Chicago Blackhawks, Sharp was voted one of the Windy City's 50 most beautiful people. We can see why.

Henrik Lundqvist

We can't help it if the New York Rangers are full of hotties. Goaltender Lundqvist, 34, is known for his looks, style and fashion sense: He's been named one of People magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People (twice!), made Page Six’s Top 25 Best Dressed List and recently became an underwear model.

Like many on this list, Lundqvist is also active in the You Can Play campaign. "For me, it’s obvious that everyone should have the same rights and ability to play the game," he says. "It doesn’t matter race or sexual orientation."
