Sharon Needles hosted a bash to end all bashes to launch NYC Pride.
Sharon Needles was full of sauce as she took the stage to welcome the over 400 gays at Barefoot Wine’s much loved annual NYC Gay Pride Launch Party last night.
The location, Club Crimson, typically filled with less flamboyant patrons, was an overflowing concoction of rainbow (even in pastel form) and goth.
This is New York after all, and Sharon Needles was the main attraction. She showed up in gorgeous goth school marm chic, cigarette in hand and politely finished it outside as instructed by the pretty PR girls at the door (Side note—why do goths dress so crazy, yet behave with such sanity?).
And actually, that was the end of the nice Miss Nice Sharon Needles as she swapped out said ciggy and traded it in for a ruler. She was out to do some spankin’! But first she had to change looks. First came Sharon’s version of Peg Bundy, rocking a full on breast plate and second, her rendition of Cruella (—even crueler? We thinks).
She took to the stage, mesmerizing the crowd—even the completely disinterested bar boys seemed intrigued—and barraged us with a 1-2-3 bang, punch some expert -winner-of-RuPaul’s-Drag-Race reading. Then she called Kenya Michaels a few names (in a sisterly way-ish) and the night was over. She gave it her all for a good half hour and never missed a beat. And Sharon’s current reign over all things NYC, hell USGAY, storms forward today. We can’t wait to see what’s next.
