Sibling Get Cheeky With Jock-Inspired Collection For Spring 2016
UK fashion house Sibling sent an interesting collection down the runway at London Menswear Fashion Week last week.
Designers Joe Bates, Sid Bryan and Cozette McCreery spotlighted jocks—both college football-inspired togs and revealing underwear.
"We always like to do something about male bonding, and how guys interact with each other," the trio told I-D. "We wanted the show to be... a group of guys all hanging out together. And then also sportsmen."
Chiseled Adonises stomped the catwalk sporting pompoms, sequined jerseys and beaded shoulder pads. And offering a buffet of cheeks we might add.
"All the lace trousers were knitted, they'd come from a very traditional pair of NFL sports trousers, and the guys would always wear jock straps underneath it," they said. "You just naturally get that gap—we just made the tops a bit shorter so the gap was a bit more obvious!"
Well, bless you.
Bryan assures us none of the lads had a problem with giving us an eyeful of their bums. And apparently male mannequin Matt Rodwell didn't have a problem being done up in a lace-up corset, either.
Sibling has already collaborated with Swarovski, Barbie, G Shock, Fred Perry, Topman and Puma—could a partnership with the NFL be far off?
The trio say inspiration for this year's sporty collection came from a trip to the U.S. where they uncovered a cache of vintage football photos. "The stitching on the leather shoulder pads was like Chanel!" reveals Bryan.
Coco is probably rolling in her grave, but c'est la vie.
