Spice Girls Announce 2019 Reunion Tour

But Victoria Beckham will be sitting this one out.

It turns out if you are a Spice Girl friendship never really ends.

A year ago it was announced that all five of the Spice Girls, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria Beckham, had all been “locked in secret talks since the summer, and finally they are all on-board for a 2018 reunion” which will consist of a television special and a new compilation album.

Finally, the Spice Girls announced today that they were hitting the road again with a new U.K. tour—but your spice collection won't be complete because Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) will be sitting out this reunion. Reportedly to focus on her fashion label.

“Being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish my girls so much love and fun as they go back on tour,” Beckham said in a statement. “I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!”

This is far from the first Spice Girls reunion since they announced their permanent hiatus in 2000. In 2007 the girl group returned with a new Greatest Hits compilation featuring two new songs, followed by a reunion tour.

Since then getting the five Spices together in the same room has been hard, and it usually only happens for special occasions like the opening night of Viva Forever! the Spice Girls musical, or the opening ceremonies for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

The Spice Girls will embark on a six-date U.K. starting in June 2019 with Jess Glynne as their opening act. As of now only U.K. dates are confirmed, but hopefully they will visit the U.S. if the tour sells well enough.
