Spiegel Catalog Puts Trans Model On The Cover For The First Time

"Strut" star Arisce Wanzer is a trailblazer.

Arisce Wanzer has become the first trans model to appear on the cover of Spiegel magazine, appearing on the iconic catalog's Resort 2017 issue.

Spiegel launched in 1865 and released its first mail-order catalog in 1905. By 1925, it was selling apparel, accessories and furniture to 10 million customers.

The company adapted with the times, and as women began to enter the workforce in the 1970s, started catering to professional females with more upscale fashions. Today it sells clothing under under the Spiegel, Newport News and Shape FX brands.

Wanzer is a rising star in the modeling world, having walked the runways during New York, Los Angeles and Miami Fashion Week and has appeared in campaigns Opening Ceremony.

Most recently she has appeared in the Oxygen series, Strut, which profile her and other models signed to Slay management.

In the new catalog, she can be seen wearing both resort and exercise outfits.
