Spring has officially arrived—which means everyone north of the 37th parallel can now gaze out the window knowing the snow will soon be melted, the trees will soon be blooming, and their butts will soon be on a sandy shore.

For college kids, spring break is especially serious business: According to the research firm IBISWorld, nearly 20.9 million college kids will ditch their classes for sunglasses over the next few weeks, spending an estimated $1.8 billion in the process.

For the few of you who may not have plans yet, don’t fret: We’ve compared data from three travel industry heavyweights that may help you decide where to head (or where to avoid) this year:

Kayak mined its customer data to determine the most searched spring break destination for each state:

1. Maui, Hawaii (topped the list of 21 states)

2. Havana, Cuba (chosen by 11 states)

3. Glasgow, Scotland (chosen by 2 states) - tie

4. Santiago, Chile (chosen by 2 states) - tie

Allianz Global Assistance reviewed more than 4 million itineraries scheduled between February 24 and April 9, 2017, that were between five and eight days long. Here’s where all those people are headed:

Domestic U.S. destinations:

1. Orlando (8.62%)

2. Las Vegas (5.29%)

3. Phoenix (4.38%)

4. Ft. Lauderdale (4.13%)

5. Los Angeles (4.0%)

1. Cancun, Mexico (16.73%)

2. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (5.27%)

3. San Juan, Puerto Rico (4.84%)

4. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (4.74%)

5. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (4.41%)

StudentCity, a travel agency specializing in spring break excursions, reports that Cancun is the biggest international destination for college students, while South Padre Island in Texas nabs the top spot domestically.
