Stephen Amell Attended Vancouver Pride—And Internet Trolls Had A Cow About It

“So for everyone in their negative pants: Go be on the wrong side of history on somebody else’s Facebook page.”

The homophobes came for Stephen Amell, and he was not having it.

The Arrow star took in Vancouver Pride over the weekend, and the haters came after him for attending the day of celebration. Amell was there with his wife, former America's Next Top Model contestant, Cassandra Jean, and the two posed for pics standing on the city's rainbow crosswalk during the festivities.

Homophobes started commenting on Amell's first photo, resulting in a fight in the comments between the haters and people who supported the actor attending Pride. Eventually it became so much that Amell had to post a status about his surprise to all of the negativity:

“So I’m scrolling through my page this morning and I was really taken aback by some of the back and forth commentary after I posted two photos from the Pride Parade/Festivities yesterday in Vancouver,” he wrote on Facebook.

Instead of apologizing for supporting the LGBT community he doubled down and promised to not only attend Vancouver Pride next year, but walk in the parade as well:

“If I’m in Vancouver next year I won’t just go back, I’ll walk in the parade,” he declared. “So for everyone in their negative pants: Go be on the wrong side of history on somebody else’s Facebook page.”

Amell's support of the LGBT community should not come as a surprise to anyone who has been following his career. Aside from co-starring with out actors like Colton Haynes and John Barrowman on Arrow, he also had small roles on gay classics like Queer as Folk and the supernatural guilty pleasure, Dante's Cove.

So it sounds like you should keep your eyes peeled for the hunky actor at next year's Pride celebrations!
