Stephen Colbert Sits “Cheek To Cheek” With Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett: WATCH

Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett appeared on The Colbert Report last night and wowed the audience with a ravishing rendition of “Cheek to Cheek,” the title track off their new duets album. First, though, they sat down with Colbert and talked about odd-couple status, the Great American Songbook, and their mutual love for each other.

“When I saw her perform, I said I’ve never heard anybody who the public loved more,” remarked Bennett. “She is the most consummate performer I’ve ever met, and I’ve met a lot of performers in my lifetime.”

Gaga continued the gushing adulation, saying she grew up listening to Tony’s music: “We’d be making meatballs and spaghetti in the kitchen and he would be singing to us! I couldn’t be more proud sitting next to you here today.”

They make a great pair—even more so in performance. Gaga may do the vocal heavy lifting, but the two singers harmonize perfectly. And look out: they even dance a little.
