Stephen Colbert Remembers “The Gay Civil War” Over Same-Sex Marriage: WATCH

Anticipating the inevitable-ish civil war between marriage equality proponents and old men shaking their fists ruefully from their front lawns, Stephen Colbert debuted his “landmark documentary” — The Gay Civil War — on last night’s The Colbert Report.

Following the Supreme Court’s non-decision, Colbert and his fellow “like-minded”  conservatives are blanching at the idea of Speaker John Boehner’s endorsement of openly gay Republican congressional candidate Carl DeMaio. Republicans, never known for their support of the gays, are trying to change their tune, but as Thomas Jefferson once famously (never) said, “It’s Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve and I loves me the brown sugar.”

I wonder how Stephen’s government-mandated life partner, Roger Cornwsorth feels about this doc. Check out the historical inaccuracies of Stephen Colbert’s The Gay Civil War as he combats lesbian registries at nationwide home goods department stores, below:
