Straight British Prankster Asks 100 Unsuspecting Guys Out On A Date–But How Many Say Yes?

British Internet prankster "Ed" hits the streets of London for YouTube channel Twattery, continuing in the grand tradition of straight guys pretending to be gay as a "social experiment" (see: this or this).

While the motif of testing the fragility of masculinity in public has become slightly tired (often deemed vaguely homophobic) this particular video possesses a "so awkward but you can't look anyway and end up being charmed" quality.

Ed supplies us with a counter for his numerous, numerous attempts. Seven minutes in, there are already 46 turn downs, and only 3 successes.

When he gets turned down, the response is either a polite, "no, thanks, sorry man," a good-hearted "no way in hell" chuckle or "if I was gay, I totally would."

Most follow the "NO, BRO, I'M NOT LIKE THAT" defense, even after Ed tells them he's not actually gay.

When he gets a "thumbs up," it seems mostly because the guy he asks is just plain impressed at Ed's boldness (and we'd even go as far to say it's a turn-on).

The end tally: 13 yes, 87 no.
