Sign Onto This "Sublet" With New Trailer for Eytan Fox's Latest Film

The 2020 Tribeca Film Festival fave has a new trailer and release date.

Sublet is the first film in eight years from acclaimed Yossi & Jagger director Eytan Fox — and it finally has a release date.

Sublet was one of the most anticipated films of the Tribeca Film Festival’s 2020 lineup, but then the in-person festival was canceled due to COVID-19. Certain movies premiered during a digital edition of the festival, with Sublet being one of them. Now, the indie feature is getting a wider theatrical and digital release, plus a brand-new trailer.

The film follows Michael (played by John Benjamin Hickey), a New York Times travel writer who journeys to Tel Aviv after suffering a tragedy. “The energy of the city and his relationship with Tomer (Niv Nissim), a younger man who becomes his tour guide, bring him back to life,” reads the official description.

"In sending Sublet out into the world, I’m hoping that this story of men from two generations facing their demons and finding a way back to love from grief will strike a chord with people, the way Yossi & Jagger did many years ago," Fox said in a statement. "Maybe it too will change the world a little in the process."

Sublet hits theaters June 11 and will be available on-demand starting July 9. Until then, check out the new trailer below.
