Bravo’s “Summer House” Reveals Straight Cast Member’s Past Gay Hookup

"I could tell you this, I am a straight man. I’m very confident in my sexuality."

It might be called Summer House, but drama is in season year-round.

On last week’s episode of the Bravo reality series, one of the cast members, Stephen McGee, spilled a secret another housemate, Carl Radke, told him about hooking up with another guy when he was 22—even though Carl is straight.

“You said to me… the best head you ever got was from a guy,” Stephen told Carl, in front of fellow cast member, Ashley Wirkus.

The episode ended after the revelation, but after the show, Carl was on Watch What Happens Live where host Andy Cohen asked him if he felt betrayed by Stephen.

“I could tell you this, Andy, I am a straight man. I’m very confident in my sexuality,” Carl told Andy. “Stephen is actually one of my first gay friends. I told him something. Yeah, I didn’t really know how to communicate it to him, but I made more of a joke than I should have.”

“But I told him very private information about something that happened to me when I was 22. It took me 10 years to actually come to grips to share it with someone. I shared it with one of my gay friends, and somehow that got permeated into other people finding out, and here I am having a conversation about it.”

Carl said that Stephen’s reveal will be dealt with in this week’s episode, but this isn’t the first time the two have fought.

On an earlier episode, Stephen took Carl to the gay Pride parade in New York, but things didn’t end well when Stephen was upset with Carl’s over-the-top behavior—like going shirtless and wearing a rainbow flag as a cape—at the festivities.

Do you think Stephen and Carl can—or should—repair their friendship?
