The Sundance Film Festival kicks off tonight in Park City, and over the years the Festival has helped to launch the careers of established actors such as Patricia Clarkson and Ann Dowd and introduced the world to newcomers including Abigail Breslin and Quvenzhane Wallis.
So with that in mind, here are the five actors to keep an eye on at this year’s Festival.
Temple has had small roles in mainstream films from Atonement to The Dark Knight Rises, but look for the British star to really wow audiences with her starring turn in the Festival film Afternoon Delight.
The gorgeous star of Skins, and last year’s very polarizing adaptation of Wuthering Heights, stars alongside Hollywood heavyweights like Jessica Biel, Alfred Molina and Frances Conroy in Emanuele and the Truth About Fishes.
With only a few credits to his name, this youngster landed the highly coveted lead in director James Ponsoldt’s much anticipated follow up to Smashed, The Spectacular Now.
Glee and Broadway fans are incredibly familiar with Groff, and there is a very good chance the rest of the world will be after they catch him in the Festival flick C.O.G.
June Diane Raphael
Casey Wilson’s best friend may not have landed roles on Happy Endings and Saturday Night Live like her pal, but she and writing partner Wilson’s new movie, which they both star in, Ass Backwards, is sure to be one of the Festival’s funniest films, and make everyone realize Raphael’s immense comedic talent.
Check back here all week for exclusive interviews from the Festival. Also, see who else stopped by Sundance Channel out at the Festival. And while you’re there make sure to check out their new, original series RECTIFY from the producers of Breaking Bad.
