This Sunday history will be made at the Super Bowl, as for the first time there will be two male cheerleaders on the sidelines.
Los Angeles Rams cheerleaders Quinton Peron and Napoleon Jinnies are the first men to be part of an NFL team’s dance team, along with dancer Jesse Hernandez of the New Orleans Saints, and will bring their skills and enthusiasm to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta as their team takes on the New England Patriots.

“I thought, Why not me? Why can’t I do this?” Peron said of his decision to try out for the team, in an interview with Good Morning America back in March.

The pair recently sat down for another interview with Good Morning America to share their excitement.
“It’s like a fairy tale,” Peron said.
“It’s been a crazy ten months,” added Jinnies. “Dancing hard and really engaging with our community, and our team, and supporting our players. I can’t believe we made it to this point. I’m pretty sure it’s showing off that we’ve been working pretty hard.”

Peron called the Rams fans “the best” and “so supportive.”
“Having these two on the team has been really incredible,” Rams cheer captain Emily Leibert said.

“And to work different community events with them and to see the way that they’ve been embraced by our fans is pretty unbelievable. They’re extraordinary in that they’re trailblazers, but they’re also totally normal teammates. They fit right in, and I think that the fans have embraced them as such. It’s been a really wonderful experience to see all of our L.A. fans in our community just open up and accept these two into their arms.”
Peron shared that both he and Jinnies have heard from a number of men, both their age and younger, who are inspired to also try to become NFL cheerleaders.
