Super Bowl Soundtrack: 3 Important Music Videos About Football

[caption id="attachment_87719" align="aligncenter" width="600"] This is just moments before Evil Taylor feasts on his spirit[/caption]

I mean, I guess this weekend's Super Bowl is a major football event, but it will never compare to these music videos, which demonstrate why football can be sexy, funky, and filled with multiple personality disorder.

Are there other important football music videos I should have mentioned? Let me know in the comments!

(1) "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift

Did you know that at certain football games, seemingly normal young women develop multiple personalities? I didn't until I watched this video, in which Evil Taylor (the one with dark hair) battles Good Taylor (the one with blond hair) for a football player's soul. Now I want to watch the Super Bowl just to see if any cheerleaders can make their heads spin around before they unleash their evil twins.

(2) "Popular" by Nada Surf

This one-hit wonder band from the 90s didn't care that much about your "singing," or at least not on this song. Instead, they deliver a spoken-word (and tongue-in-cheek) lecture about how teenagers should deal with sex and popularity. But more importantly, this lecture is accompanied by a tawdry video about a cheerleader sleeping with lots of high school football players. And best of ALL, we get to see those football players in the shower. Naked. And wet.

(3) "The Super Bowl Shuffle" by the Chicago Bears Shufflin' Crew

Did you know that sometimes, when teams make it to the Super Bowl, they celebrate by recording funky rap songs? Complete with dances? It happens. That's how the Chicago Bears celebrated in the 80s, and their song delivered unforgettable lines like "We're not doin' this because we're greedy/The Bears are doin' it to feed the needy." Who knew they were so charitable?
