Gay Duo Superfruit Goes Boy Crazy In "Heartthrob" Video

Pentatonix members Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying throw a ’90s sleepover.

Was anything dreamier than frosted tips and a middle part?

Hot on the heels of summer jams “Imaginary Parties,” “Bad 4 Us,” "Worth It (Perfect)," and "Vacation," Superfruit has released a campy new throwback video for their hormone-fueled party track "Heartthrob."

The pop duo's latest candy-colored fantasy features vocalists Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying primping at an old-school sleepover, crushing hard on ’90s Tiger Beat centerfolds like Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. "I'm so over James Dean," they sing. "I'm more of a three names queen."

Grassi and Hoying are also founding and current gay members of the Grammy-winning a cappella quintet Pentatonix. "With Superfruit, it’s a little more gay-friendly and a lot more open, more sexual, more liberated," Grassi recently told Out when comparing the two groups.

"Heartthrob" can be found on Future Friends, Superfruit’s new two-part debut studio album. Future Friends—Part One is available now, with Future Friends—Part Two to follow September 15.

Since the duo formed in 2013, Superfruit's videos have amassed more than 350 million views.
