Adam Rippon and Superfruit Hit the Ice for a New Spin on an '80s Classic

Now THIS is a collab we can get behind.

Yes, out Olympian Adam Rippon did leave the world of pro figure skating behind, but that doesn't mean he's lost his touch: Rippon hit the ice yet again in "The Promise," Superfruit's latest music video.

The video sees Rippon show off his skills on the rink as Superfruit vocalists and Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying belt the When In Rome classic. It's an upbeat cover that's somehow sultry and smokey (quite literally—the video culminates with Grassi and Hoying, who also sing for Pentatonix, standing side-by-side in a haze of gray smoke. Drama!)

In summer 2017, Superfruit delivered some pop tracks that topped our playlists, like "Imaginary Parties" and "Bad 4 U." In July 2017, the duo also released a gender-bending music video for their song "Worth It (Perfect)," which featured two teen dancers taking center stage in gender non-conforming outfits.

Rippon has been busy since scoring his Olympic bronze medal for Team U.S.A., too, winning Dancing With the Stars: Athletes and making a cameo in an episode of NBC's Will & Grace.

Watch the music video for "The Promise" below, replete with some much-needed goodness from America's Gay Sweetheart.
