Susanna Hoffs Covers “Thank You For Being A Friend” On “Golden Girls” Episode Of “The Goldbergs”

The Bangles singer helps pay tribute to our favorite female foursome.

In celebration of a special Golden Girls-themed episode of ABC’s The Goldbergs this week, the series tapped Susanna Hoffs to cover the sitcom’s iconic theme song, “Thank You For Being A Friend.”

In Wednesday’s episode, “The Goldberg Girls,” Beverly worries that she’ll be lonely when she gets older. So she attempts to create her own version of the Florida foursome with some other moms in the neighborhood.

The entire episode is a tribute to Dorothy, Blanche, Rose and Sophia, and even has the Goldberg family singing everyone’s favorite theme tune.

But it’s the montage at the end of the episode that finds Hoffs singing her own updated version of the ’80s earworm.

The Bangles co-creator definitely added her signature sound to the song—we wouldn’t mind having a full version of the track to add to our Golden Girls playlist.
