#TBT: Hilary Duff's Iconic 2008 "That's So Gay" Commercial

The return of Queen Hilary Duff has been calculated with expert precision, landing the child star turned pop princess turned child-bearer back atop the throne of Disney greats.

With her 2014 divorce buried, Duff is making 2015 her oyster, first by joining the cast of Lifetime's Younger, then reuniting with her Lizzie McGuire castmates back in April and finally, slaying speakers everywhere with her new album, Breathe In. Breathe Out.

But let's for a moment look back to a less bombastic time, 2008, when the Duffster recorded a PSA for GLSEN's "Think Before You Speak" campaign.

It begins innocently with two girls shopping.

Girl 1: "Do you like this top?"

Girl 2: "It's so gay."

Girl 1: "Really?"

Girl 2: "Yeah, it's totally gay."

From the shadows emerges an angel, Hilary, with a message of acceptance.

Hilary: "You know, you really shouldn't say that."

Girl 2: "Say what?

Hilary: "Say that something's gay, when you mean it's bad. It's insulting. What if every time something was bad everybody said 'Ugh, That's so girl wearing a skirt as a top'?"

Then, classic Duff, she ends her impromptu wisdom sesh with a compliment.

"Cute jeans, though."

Cute everything, Hilary.
