#TBT: Josh Brolin Gleamed Our Cube In 1986's "Thrashin'"

Decades before No Country for Old Men, Milk or Men in Black 3, Josh Brolin starred in 1986's Thrashin', a teen drama aiming to capitalize on the-then mania for skateboarding and Brolin's post-Goonies rising star.

Interestingly, director David Winters originally wanted Johnny Depp for the role but producers wouldn't bite and he had to settle for Brolin. (Depp was dating Sherilynn Fenn, at the time, who also appeared in Thrashin'.)

The film features appearances from famous skaters like Tony Hawk and Steve Caballero, but is best remembered for the numerous shots of a shirtless, blond and sweaty Brolin.

Barbra Streisand's stepson plays Cory, a rebellious skateboarder visiting L.A. from out of town. Cory falls for Chrissy, who just happens to be the younger sister, Hook leader of  the "Daggers" a rival skateboarding gang. (In case you don't get the Romeo & Juliet allegory, the whole thing takes place in Venice Beach.)

Honestly, the whole plot boils down to this one gif.
