Just days after a media tour that memorably included a stop on our favorite daytime show, Anderson, Meow, the homeless cat who weighed either 37, 38, 39, or "nearly 40" pounds, depending on the source (or maybe his salt intake?), was euthanized over the weekend. It's always sad when something dies, but the gravity and anthropomorphism of Anderson's reporting of the news an hour ago on Twitter was a little much:

"We are very sad to share the news that Meow, reputedly the nation’s most overweight cat, has lost his battle w/obesity & has passed."

But it is sad. Poor Meow! If only there had been some way to control how much food he ate. (And maybe a media tour wasn't the best idea for a sick cat? Even if it was done "to raise awareness of pet obesity," LOL.) BUT, in the spirit of moving on, check out this Anderson Cooper lookalike thing they're doing! So fun! Cheer up!
