Tobey Maguire who? The official trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man has hit the web and damn is it good. Andrew Garfield plays a geekier version of Peter Parker, and man does this boy know how to sex-up the role of nerd. Emma Stone is his love interest Gwen Stacy and the duo’s real life chemistry definitely translates on to the big screen.

We see Parker dealing with a bully at high school (played by The Secret Circle’s Chris Zylka), writing out a complex formula a la The Social Network, fighting a group of cops and, naturally, swinging from buildings.

The film was shot in 3-D and we’re already prepping ourselves for the inevitable jump back out of your seat as a building falls on you scene. Rhys Ifans plays the villain Lizard and Sally Field and Martin Sheen also star in the movie that looks like it could follow The Dark Knight’s formula to success.

Now we all just need to wait for July 3.
