Steven James Boyle of Gaily Grind got himself backstage at American Idol last week, so naturally he asked the Top 8 contestants about their feelings on their gay fans. Of course, nobody on live TV is going to turn away fans, so the response was overwhelmingly positive, but it was fun to see his question cut through the rote pre-memorized monologues that they had all clearly given dozens of times.

Our favorite response was from Jax, who said "“I love gay men! They’re my favorite! ...Says every girl ever.”  They're finally becoming self-aware, folks. Also, apparently the gay community is responsible for Qaasim being born, so you're welcome for that.

Side Note: Nick has a gay uncle. If he's anywhere near as handsome as his nephew, this is fantastic news.
