Whether you're a devout worshipper at the Church of Godney, or just a casual observer, you may have noticed a gradual shift in the Instagram presence of the legendary Ms. Britney Spears over the last few months.

"Britney Spears Has Turned Into Your Mother On Instagram," wrote BuzzFeed's Christian Zamora back in September. "Britney Spears' Instagram Has Basically Turned Into a Midwestern Mom's Facebook Page," E! Online reiterated.

The sentiment expressed being that Spears had taken an ownership of her Instagram, scrubbing off the facade of celebrity and presenting a less, for lack of a better word, filtered version of who the Queen really is.

In the months since, we've gotten "hotel room yoga," "the mermaid life," stints as a dance teacher, even a recent admission of a run in with a pole.

In contrast, Christina Aguilera's Instagram presence has long been a blip in the radar. With just over 100 posts for her entire tenure on the app, Aguilera's reign has been a quiet one.

The every-award-there-ever-was-winning songstress began her run with a "Get The Look" series during seasons 8 and 10 of The Voice, in which she'd pose for photos in the iconic red chair with captions offering banal style advice (Example: "The holidays are a time to really shine and to play up your glam.").

Besides announcing her engagement and a mic drop-worthy post admitting that she loves "winding down at night & cozying in w/ my #GoldenGirls," her 'gram has mostly been Boresville in comparison to Spears'.

But over the holiday, a seismic shift occurred.

Revelatory, sure, but this could have easily been chocked up to a a momentary lapse of control by her management team.

Alas, it appears not so.
