Being closeted in high school is nothing new—being closeted as straight, though, is a different kettle of fish. It’s also the premise of Faking Itthe new MTV series debuting Friday night on Logo.

Karma (Katie Stevens) and Amy (Rita Volk) are best friends trying to break into the popular clique at super-progressive Hester High. Thanks to a series of misunderstandings—and some pressure from their GBF Shane (out actor Michael J. Willett)—the school thinks the girl friends are girlfriends. That might put a dent in their dating life—especially since Karma is hot for campus jock Liam (Gregg Sulkin) and Amy is starting to have genuine feelings for her. Oh boy.

We sat down with the cast of Faking It and executive producer Carter Covington to talk about the boundary-breaking show, bromances, falling in love with a friend and more.

Below, watch a preview trailer for Faking It, airing Friday at 11pm on Logo.
