The Girl Donating Her Hair To A Trans Child With Cancer Has Restored Our Faith In Humanity

"She knows who she is, and I think that's wonderful. She deserves this!"

With all the anti-LGBT stories in the news, it's easy to become disheartened with our fellow man. But then we hear stories like this, and think maybe there's hope for humanity.

Reddit user IAmTwoFaced revealed that she's a hairdresser and, on Sunday, a young woman came in looking to donate her hair.

What caught the poster's attention was that the girl wanted to take it with her in a bag. " I thought that was interesting because we usually send the donated hair off the charity of their choice," writes IamTwoFaced.

It turns out the young woman wanted to donate it to a 10-year-old child who was fighting cancer and who wanted to start transitioning before having chemo.

"She had grown her hair out but unfortunately she lost it all after the treatments began."

It turns out the volunteer had donated hair before, for a child in the same hospital also fighting cancer.

The little girl saw my client had given hair to that child and asked her mom if she could have my client's hair. The child's mother got in contact with my client and she spent the last year growing her hair out for her.

I thought it was amazing, [and my] faith in humanity is (almost) restored! She kept saying "She knows who she is, and I think that's wonderful. She deserves this!"

Wonderful indeed.
