Have you heard of John Lautner? He was an architect, and one that is still celebrated today, especially in Southern California where most of his work was done. He mainly worked on private homes, meaning that the vast majority of people will never experience the Lautner Lifestyle. (I think I just made up that term.)

The Desert Hotel Springs Motel was one of his public-ish works, but it became practically derelict over the years, until 2008 when it was purchased by a couple of enthusiasts and renovated with upgrades like luxurious bathrooms and purposeful landscaping.

It's now called Hotel Lautner. And there are only four rooms, can you imagine? So not just anybody is going to be able to stay here. Book the whole hotel with your friends for Coachella or the White Party. You'll be the toast of the desert.
