The “How Gay Was ‘Glee’” Recap: New Love Interests, Cute Uniforms And Sam Processes Marriage Equality

The queers of Glee NYC shined this week (the less said about the McKinley storylines, the better). From Sapphic love blossoming between Santana and her new coworker, to Kurt's weird fashion resurgence and upcoming tribute-band plans, we're quite enjoying our gay Glee.
1. Sam's got a lot of questions about gay marriage.
We know the boy is just lonely, and trying to support equality and answer the question fan-fic writers have been asking for years -- is it Hummel, Anderson, Anderson-Hummel, Hummel-Anderson, or some horrible pairing smush made up name -- but we think maybe he's just trying to figure out his options. If you're so unlucky with girls, maybe it's time to try some dudes, Sam. We can find you a few takers if you cut your hair.
2. Sapphic Goddess Alert.
Consider us smitten: Demi Lovato makes her debut this week as Dani, Santana's new coworker and love interest. Santana is a bit of a bumbling mess about the sexy and confident Dani, and the two are already giggling on the floor by the end of the episode. She's definitely a welcome addition to the Bushwick loft.
3. What is that vest, Kurt?
We haven't had a great Kurt Hummel fashion WTF moment for a while, almost since he moved to NYC and ditched the harsher style choices. But this week he pulled some sort of Manhattan-skyline vest out of the back of his closet and wore it to cheer up Rachel. We salute you, fashionisto Kurt Hummel, for always taking a risk even when it flops. Just please don't go back to those weird hats from Season 3.
4. On the other hand, Kurt rocks that waiter uniform.
He can serve us any time he wants. We'll take two.
5. A Madonna cover band? YES PLEASE.
A throwaway line for now, but Kurt saving up money to start a Madonna cover band is one thing that will keep us coming back. Let's start a betting pool on what he'll name the band: Frozen? Cherish?
