"The Joys Of Cheesecake Boys" Spoofs Mellow Art Icon Bob Ross

"There is no reason for doing this. We are only trying to teach this brush a lesson."

Paul Richmond has been painting joyous pictures of cute guys with their pants down for years as part of his Cheesecake Boys series.

Now he's celebrating the series with a parody of legendary TV painter Bob Ross, whose The Joy of Painting series entertained and educated generations of would-be artists.

Muscular boys in their underwear may not be what Ross had in mind when he encouraged us to paint "mighty mountains," but it seems perfectly natural to us.

Though he passed away in 1995, Ross has been enjoying a bit of a resurgence lately, with Joy of Painting now available on Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix.

And Richmond's star has been on the rise as well—he recently provided artwork for James Franco’s The Long Home, done in his signature style.
