The NewNowNext Holiday Gift Guide: The 8 Gays Of Christmas

The holiday shopping season has hit us all full steam but, if you're like us, you're only just now thinking of what presents to buy for your boyfriend, co-workers, family members and assorted loved ones. Not to worry, though—we've assembled a shopping guide with eight great gift suggestions, each tailored to a different kind of gay guy.

Behold, the 8 gays of Christmas!

The gaymer: Dragon Age: Inquisition

Not only is Bioware's latest Dragon Age release one of the hottest RPGs of the season (some critics say of all time) but it's groundbreaking in terms of LGBT representations in gaming. There's Dorian, the bad-ass gay character, and Krem, possibly the first fully realized trans man in a mainstream game. Available for Xbox 360, XBox One, PS3, Ps4 and PC.

($59.99-$69.99, DragonAge.com available)

The music freak: Monster DNA On-Ear Headphones

Let your guy lose himself in music with these top-of-the-line headphones that add a touch of class to your personal tech. An advanced noise-isolating design reduces ambient sound,

while dual audio input jacks let you link your MusicShare headphones together and share the experience with a friend.

($149.95, Amazon.com)

The foodie: Wondermade Marshmallows

Don't waste these bite-size squares of pure heaven on hot cocoa—available in Guinness, Bourbon, Peppermint and other flavors, they're intoxicating on their own. For a fancy upgrade, try the Gold & Champagne variety, dipped in real 24-karat gold.

($7.95, Gold + Champagne $24.95, Wondermade)

The gym bunny: Men’s lululemon ABC Pant

If you're hoping your giftee will make a New Year's Resolution to upgrade both their workout and their wardrobe, these surprisingly stylish pants are made of a super-stretchy and sweat-wicking Warpstreme fabric that outperforms traditional sweats. You can go from the yoga studio to the restaurant without breaking a sweat. (Well, you know what we mean.)

($128, Lululemon)

The moviehound: Stanley Kubrick: The Masterpiece Collection

2001 space oddity

Eight of the iconic director's films—including Lolita, A Clockwork Orange, Dr. Strangelove and The Shining—are now available in this Blu-ray collection, along with two new documentaries, Kubrick Remembered and Stanley Kubrick in Focus, and three additional docs. Also included: A fascinating 78-page coffee-table book offering fascinating archival photography.

($200, Amazon.com).

The bookworm: Yes Please by Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler's wisdom-filled literary debut is so much more than a memoir—it's a collection of stories, lists, poetry, photographs, mantras and advice (like "Treat Your Career Like a Bad Boyfriend"). Perfect for that gay that wishes Leslie Knope was his friend.

($14.50, Amazon.com)

The traveler: Scratch Map Deluxe

Nobody likes looking at vacation photos, but your giftee can showcase his world travels with this unique poster, which allows globetrotters to scratch off the metallic foil over the places they've visited, and reveal a surprising pop of color underneath.  ($32, Scratch Map)

The do-gooder: Lucie's Place

To help combat the homophobic efforts of 19 Kids and Counting's Duggar family, LGBT advocates recently hijacked #DefendTheDuggars and encouraged people to donate money to Lucie’s Place, a nonprofit helping homeless queer youth in the Duggar’s home state of Arkansas.

The campaign garnered tens of thousands of dollars for Lucie's Place, but they can always use more. You can donate money in your giftee's honor,  of course, or contribute things like bus passes, disposable razors or items from Lucie's Amazon wish list.
