The Postal Service made their big television debut last night, a full ten years after releasing their one and only album Give Up, as Jenny Lewis, Ben Gibbard, and Jimmy Tamborell stopped by The Colbert Report for a little chat and a few songs. And they were just the greatest.

So watch above as Gibbard reveals how the band got their name, something every fan should already know, Lewis gets a little embarrassed when one of her early acting clips is shown, and the three discuss just how they all came together.

And below, well below is these three performing their signature song "Such Great Heights" live, for one of the first, and maybe one of the last, times ever.

It should also be mentioned that last night Colbert gave a touching tribute to his mother who passed away earlier this week, which you can see here.
