The Real Housewives' First Trans Cast Member Quits After Being Objectified

Model Amiyah Scott claims RHOA producers made her out to be an over-sexualized bitch.

Amiyah Scott, a woman poised to make Real Housewives history as the first transgender cast member in the franchise's nine-year history, has reportedly quit The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

TMZ reports Amiyah "walked off the set, saying she was done" just a month into filming her "trial" stint on an upcoming RHOA season.

Amiyah reportedly had disagreements with show producers about what she would bring to the table. She wanted to present herself as a role model for the transgender community, but was pitted as the season's over-sexualized "bitch" who was constantly trash-talking the other wives.

"Producers were prodding Amiyah to sexualize herself ... wearing lingerie and acting like a vixen," sources told TMZ.

Amiyah addressed the controversy in an Instagram post last night, suggesting her role on the show was also an unpaid one. She wrote in part:

"Trans women are not only sex objects or prostitutes. We are strong, educated & human just like everyone else. AND WE ARE HERE AND WE DEMAND RESPECT. And whatever I have to do to assist in that I will and won't regret it. Now let me call my bf and schedule a hair appointment. ???"

In a show of support, fellow RHOA cast member Kandi Burruss commented, "I hate that it didn't work out. I enjoyed taping with you the few times we did tape. Bigger & Better things ahead in your future!"

She should be alright, though! Lee Daniels has already snatched her up for a potential role in a new Empire spinoff series about Cookie Lyon's early years.
