Our boys are getting hitched is everyone happy, now?

THIS IS NOT A DRILL I REPEAT THIS IS NOT A DRILL, KURT AND BLAINE ARE GETTING MARRIED.

I am really excited, okay? I am not even going to apologize.

We waited, we cried, we sang good songs and really awful songs (I don’t even know who Hey Monday are, and that song "Candles" haunts my nightmares) and finally the wait has paid off. In the world of shipping it does not, it literally does not get better than engagements. (Wait, you might say, aren’t there actual weddings and babies and so much more? Yes, dear reader, but we gotta take things one day at a time and remember that no matter how much they give us some days, at the mid-season slump this is still network TV.)

I am certain (because my Tumblr dash is well populated) that I am not the only one who felt directly proposed to this Thursday. In fact, after exposing a firm non-shipper to the clip of that proposal speech she screamed YES in the middle of a University courtyard I mean THAT WAS SOME GOOD SPEECHING ALRIGHT?

Okay I’m calm. I’m absolutely professional. It’s only that I have been waiting for this moment MY WHOLE LIFE (for three years). The Tumblr world is flooded and this is the news of the hour (the week, the Fall TV Season – really) but not everything is sunshine and over-crowded choreography—oh no. I remember that when Klaine broke up I made it a point to reach out to my non-Klaine-loving friends on Tumblr and congratulate them on their momentary canon win. Because that to me is what fandom is about. And a lot of what I’m seeing online from Klainers amounts to "SUCK IT, HATERS" which, all things considered, is a statement they have a right to make. But I would err on the side of community and solidarity and offer comfort and condolences to those whose ships have sunk in the rise of this canon to end all canons.

To them I say : It ain’t over ‘till the babies come.

Fic Authors Killed the TV Writer

We’re not saying that Ryan Murphy (and Jeff Davis and probably countless others) spend their hiatuses trolling AO3 and FF.net. We’re just saying that every so often we see something on TV and go, “Well that sounds awfully familiar.”

In honor of Thursday’s beautiful soul-lifting fall on your face that was so gorgeous proposal, I want to bring forth the fic that many of us thought of while Blaine was going on about lifetimes and souls and remembering and—let me stop before I swoon.

I’ve featured Muchacha before but I think a rec for such a classic fic had to be accompanied by a classic piece of fanart and Muchacha has quite a number of Sidhe pieces.

The Sidhe by Chazzam is without a doubt one of the top fics in the Klaine fandom. There really aren’t a lot of people out there who have never heard of it. But if you have never given it a chance, go watch the season premiere again and then go for it. You’ll understand. It is an epic of magic and wonderment and really intense love and it’s magnificent. You’ll definitely get déjà vu to Blaine’s speech.

To the Sunken Ship Goes the Fanfiction

I stand by my previous statement to all those who hate Klaine (and trust me my friends, this group of people ABOUNDS) for you also there is always hope. And though in the reality of canon that hope may hang on network executives fighting about contracts or what not, the fact is that your hope should never dwindle (until and if the series finale closes with a Klaine wedding). And even then – to the non-canon OTP goes the power of fanon and fanfiction, the kingdom is yours. Your ships have the mobility that a canon ship does not. Bravo to you.

So here is my salute: Kurtofsky, Seblaine, Kurtbastian shippers, and all others on the margins of the Glee Kink Meme. Keep the fic and art coming; there is always an AU where Dalton Academy blew up.

Shipping aside, there seems to be some really great queer-centered New York stories in upcoming episodes. I mean look at this.
