Gay Wedding At The Rose Parade, Son Of An NBA Legend Comes Out: Today In Gay

AMC Theatres is heading into 2014 with a big controversy looming over its head: The theater chain has booked a film produced by the nutjob homophobes at Focus on the Family called Irreplaceable. No, it's not a dramatization of the Beyoncé song: The propaganda-diguised-as-a-documentary details the assault on "traditional families" by the LGBT community and other ne'er-do-wells, and features soundbites from proponents of ex-gay therapy and other homophobic haters.

IRREPLACEABLE follows one man’s journey to determine if traditional families are still relevant to our world. The documentary explores the importance of family with a diversity of experts who enlighten audiences on whether the concept of the traditional family is meaningful, or in fact outdated. IRREPLACEABLE asks families of all faiths and backgrounds to consider the questions, “What is a family?,” “Is today’s family dynamic in trouble?,” “Are families relevant in today’s society?,” and “Is my family worth fighting for in an era where divorce is so prevalent?”

Sounds like a real blockbuster, no?

"I came out in 2008, my sophomore year at college," the young Thomas tells Michael Musto. "My parents like to say they always knew I was gay. I came out to them, and they were very accepting... I was just nervous about, “Are my friends gonna accept me?” because I was a jock kid, so to speak, with an athlete father."

california UtahSean Reyes, the newly minted Attorney General for Utah, tells The Salt Lake Tribune he will work to overturn marriage equality in his state, whatever the cost. "We’re willing to spend whatever it takes to protect the laws and the will of the people," he said, referencing the Beehive State's nine-year-old amendment banning gay marriage. "Our commitment to the people is if we don’t have [expertise] internally, we’ll find the best to represent the state."

Meanwhile, Republican Rep. Jacob Anderegg is pushing for a new amendment, one that would protect clergy from having to perform same-sex ceremonies if it went against their religious beliefs.

That no clergyman has ever been forced to officiate a wedding they didn't want to—for any reason—just isn't safeguard enough, apparently.

"It isn't enough for homosexuals to have their own offensive annual parades every June in every major city dedicated to celebrating deviance. And it wasn't enough to ruin Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade for families with a live performance from a play that celebrates cross-dressing. No, it seems their goal is to ruin every public event for families by publicly celebrating perversion," Illinois Family Institute leader Laurie Higgins posted on Facebook. "What should Christian leaders do when their flocks are being deceived by the pervasive dissemination of lies, including even the dissemination of lies to our littlest ones—lies which are darkening their minds and molding their hearts? If the church does not participate in exposing these lies, which are confusing even adults, who, pray tell, will?"
