The Spice Girls Have Booked A Date For Their 2017 Reunion Concert

GET EXCITED.

The Spice Girls will officially reunite to perform a medley of their greatest hits at London's Hyde park next year, according to The Sun.

A source told the UK tabloid that despite contentious issues between some of the girls and Mel B's constantly-thwarted plans to reunite the band for the 20th anniversary of "Wannabe" this year, Mel B, Geri Halliwell, and Emma Bunton have gone ahead and booked a date for a reunion gig in July 2017.

"Mel B, Emma and Geri agreed Hyde Park would be the ultimate way to launch a reunion next July for their 21st anniversary," the source said. "It gives them a year to plan everything and make sure their comeback is spectacular. It would be the most-talked about gig of the year."

The girls reportedly hope that Victoria Beckham and Mel C, both of whom have sworn off a reunion tour, would reconsider for the occasion.

According to the paper, Beckham is considering the idea closely as she "likes the idea of (her daughter) Harper seeing her just once as a Spice Girl because she wasn’t born for the reunion in 2008."

Sun reporter Dan Wootton has also said Mel C may change her mind as well.

At an event at Hyde Park recently, the former Sporty Spice hinted at plans for a reunion: "I am keeping tight-lipped. There are lots of discussions going on," she said. "Right now I am in the studio working on my own album and that is my focus. I’m taking it slowly."

Last week, Mel B dropped a similar hint in a during a chat with Michael Urie on Logo's Cocktails and Classics.

"As this year develops, there's going to be a lot more Spice activity going on," she said. "That's all I can say!"
